The International J/80 Executive Committee has awarded the 2020 J/80 World Championship to the J/80 North American Class Association! A short list of five (5) potential venues is being explored then announced at the end of this coming Summer 2018. Please share your nomination through Facebook or our J/80 web site to where you would like to see the event to be held to ensure your participation. Annapolis/AYC would be a great venue. The largest active J80 fleet, a club (AYC) with experience hosting World Championships and a brand new clubhouse and Sailing Center designed for events like this. Also J/World are in town and offer race packages and/or boat leasing. Also lots of other J/80's in the Chesapeake Bay area. EYC and SSA are also right in the harbor to help with a major event like this.

I think the World's should be in Annapolis, too. Not only for the reasons mentioned in John Taylor's comment, but the fact that AYC currently has an opening in their schedule for the fall of 2020 and are actively seeking the J-80 Worlds would give this event incredible support from a world class club.
