New 2025 Mast Package Discount

The J/80 North American class represented by President Emeritus Ramzi Bannura, has negotiated a discount with Sparcraft for new 2025 rig packages The discount price of just under $9,000 for a full rig: mast, boom, standing rigging and Profurl R250 furler is nearly 30% off retail. Sparcraft and Profurl are subsidiaries of Wichard.

Sparcraft rigs have very tight spreader attachments. Each rig's spreaders are  custom pinned to the speader bar that goes thru the mast, so sometimes it is necessary to use clamps to compress the sidewalls and get the spreaders on.

For those J/80 owners with TPI boats upgrading from an old Hall spar, you will need a plate adaptor to sit on the ibeam as the slide step for Sparcraft is wider than the ibeam. Two plate adaptors are available. A simple, small plate that attaches in the original holes for the step or a full plate that fits the entire length of the ibeam and has the advantage of tying into both bulkheads to stiffen the boat. The French built & New boats come with the full length style so an adapter is not necessary.

Hall booms are NOT compatible with the Sparcraft gooseneck so if you are upgrading you will require the entire mast/ boom combo.

The plate adaptors are available from Sea Breeze Custom for $150 (small) or $550 (full length) respectively for the two styles. Contact Peter d'Anjou to coordinate these.

Rigging advice, Furler assembly, plate adaptors installation, or mast dressing services are available from Peter d’Anjou,  (508 440-7988) who is also able to install Backstay flickers, windex or masthead wind brackets for the new Vakaros Atlas 2 wind sensors.

A custom masthead mount for the new Atlas II compatible wind sensor fits into an existing hole in the masthead.
