Southern Yacht Club welcomes all J\/80 North American participants to get in some practice on
\nLake Pontchartrain ahead of the event. Attached below is our Fall schedule.
\nWe traditionally sail three races starting at L0:00 AM, followed by burgers and cocktails at the
\nbar. You’re also invited to stay for the SYC Closing Regatta on the Sunday following North
\nAmericans.
\nBoats may arrive after September 3rd and must depart no later than October 26th. A flat 5125
\ndry storage fee will be charged. However, no fee will be charged to participants arriving October
\n4th and departing October 13th.
\nFall Schedule:
\nSeptember 7: Fall Series #1
\nSeptember 28: Fall Series #2
\nOctober 5: Fall Series #3
\nOctober 8-L2: J\/8O North Americans
\nOctober L8: Coco Seemann – an all women event sailed in J80’s
\nOctober 19: Southern Yacht Club Closing Regatta
\nSouthern Yacht Club is equipped with two cranes capable of launchin ga J\/8O. A mast puller is
\nattached to the A-frame on our waterfront, allowing for mast stepping after launching.
\nVolunteers will be on hand to assist with boat launch and recovery during the event. lf you plan
\nto arrive early, a fleet member can assist you with using our equipment.
